1. Roam the trails of Machu Picchu – an ancient (now abandoned) Incan resort for weary
travellers. Located in the Andes, it is so far removed from civilization that you have to take a train to the location and backpack up a mountain for a day to reach it. The scenic view from the top makes it completely worth it.
2. You MUST try…-Peruvian-Chinese food! It’s called Chifa – a unique blend of Chinese and Peruvian styled food that’s distinct from the two. It is delicioso!-Peruvian ice cream – Lucuma, made from the Peruvian cherimuya fruit- Inca Cola (actually, this is sold in select American markets as well)
3. Buy an authentic Peruvian sweater woven from Alpaca wool. It’s just about the softest
material you will ever feel in your entire life.
4. Satisfy your voyeuristic tendencies at the seaside “La Plaza De Amor” in Lima. There are always couples shamelessly making out there… in plain view!
5. Visit one of the restaurants on the outskirts of Lima. Some of them have dining areas outdoors where you can jump on a trampoline or swing in a tire while you wait for your food.
6. Sunbathe on one of the white sand beaches.

7. Stop and listen to an Andean music performance in Cusco. Their instruments are unlike any you will find in America and they produce a unique sound.
8. Visit one of the many Andean marketplaces around Lima that sell all kinds of ethnic pottery, alpaca-fur rugs, instruments, and ceramic figurines.
