Travelogue - Things you MUST do in Mexico

(specifically, Cabo San Lucas)

1. Go fishing for a day for bluefin tuna and dorado and marlin! Cabo has some of the best fishing anywhere. More marlins have been caught there than anywhere else in the world, and some of the largest bluefin tuna are there. My dad caught a ninety or a hundred pound one last time he was down. It was as tall as me! For about six hours of fishing, we caught three dorados and a couple medium sized tunas, and that was a slow day.

2. Snorkeling's good, especially in Bahia Santa Maria, a little north of Cabo. There are lots of tropical, colorful fish down there, and the water's jacuzzi-warm, at least on the side of the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California)

3. For cooler waters, try taking a dip in the waters on the side of the Pacific Ocean. It has good waves too, for surfing and whatnot.

4. Land's End is neat to see, the very tip of Baja California. when you go out on a boat, you can see tall rocks and arches and small beaches coming out of the water until the end.

5. I remember one place in Cabo named Mama's - it had the best machaca (shredded meat mixed with eggs and different kinds of salsa) I've ever had. To get a hands-on dining experience, the restaurant at the Finnistera hotel, the Blue Marlin, cooked the fish we caught and complemented that with tortilla soup and ceviche (seafood mixed with diced tomatoes and onions in lemon juice).

6. Visit a flea market… they’re everywhere in Mexico. You can pick up some wooden carved animals, woven bags, hammocks, and handmade flutes… all for cheap prices, and you can still bargain with them! Come to think of it, everything there is much cheaper!
